Medical Disclaimer

The MacroCalculator macro calculator and guides give general estimates for healthy adults. They are not medical advice, they do not diagnose or treat any condition, and they do not replace a doctor or a registered dietitian. Use the results as a starting point and judge them against how your body responds.

If anything on this page does not fit your situation, speak to a qualified professional before changing what you eat.

Who the Calculator Is For

The calculator is built for healthy adults aged 18 to 80. Before it shows any numbers, it asks you to confirm that you are not pregnant or breastfeeding and have no condition that needs supervised nutrition. If you cannot confirm that, it shows no targets.

These limits are our own product rules for safety, not findings from a study, and they have not been independently verified. We would rather withhold a number than show one that may not suit you.

When to Talk to a Professional

Speak to a doctor or registered dietitian before using any calorie or macro target if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under 18 or over 80, have diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease or another medical condition, take medication that affects appetite or metabolism, or have a history of disordered eating. Also seek advice if you feel unwell, dizzy or unusually tired while following a target.

If you think you may have an eating disorder, please contact a professional or an organization such as the National Alliance for Eating Disorders instead of using a calculator.

What the Numbers Are and Are Not

The calculator estimates your energy needs from an equation and adjusts them for your goal. Predictive equations can miss an individual's true energy use, so the result is a starting point to adjust after two to three weeks of trend data, not a measured value or a guarantee of weight change.

The methodology page lists every formula, constant and limit, and shows how much each input moves the result. The calculator never returns less than 1,200 kcal for women or 1,500 kcal for men; those floors are product guardrails, not an individual safety assessment.

The site may show third-party advertising and link to outside websites. We do not control or endorse them, and an ad for a diet, supplement or app is not our recommendation. See the advertising disclosure and the terms of service.
